PEDRO GALASO Joaquim Folding Screen
Joaquim Folding Screen is Silver Design Award winner in 2021 - 2022 Furniture Design Award Category.
Joaquim Folding Screen

Shelving folding screen, which can be used as a dividing screen, bookshelf and mobile vertical garden. The piece was motivated by two factors: the first was to honor designer's great mentor, and the second was to create a piece of furniture that could provide users with various options together with connecting people and nature, a pungent trend during pandemic times. This piece covers almost every audience. This piece is versatile, carries a strong personality and its functionality is dictated by the way the piece is laid out in the room.

PEDRO GALASO

Pedro Galaso holds a sandwich degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Estacio University together with the University of Oxford (UK), and a postgraduate degree in Interior and Furniture Design from the Instituto Europeo di Design (IED). It was through Architecture that he discovered his passion for furniture. He currently runs an Architecture Office with an emphasis on urban and residential furniture projects. He has developed a solid line of thinking through which he believes that furniture doesn't necessarily translate to inert objects, as the title implies: it needs to be fluid. Bearing that in mind, Pedro always applies more than one use to each piece. Within four years from graduation, he’s been gaining more and more notoriety in the design and architecture scenery, collecting over 6 awards worldwide, holding exhibitions and lectures, thus consolidating his trajectory. One of the most remarkable awards the designer has ever been granted was ART BASEL - MIAMI’s Best Furniture Design at New Talents Exhibition, for his Uba stool.
