The design of the book comes to life through interaction with the user, as by his act of flicking through the pages, the animation and the movements happen. The design itself resembles famous sights of Budapest, Hungary, for example the building of the Parliament, the Statue of Liberty and the National Museum. The design is characterized by minimal geometrical shapes, strong black and white contrast which makes the animation easy to follow and to be recognized by the reader.
Botond is a freelance graphic designer from Budapest, Hungary, who has an MA degree in Graphic Design from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. His main focus lies in branding, identities, logos and trademarks. The overall aim of his work is to create simple, minimal and elegant creative solutions that are unique for the client and represent the value of the company. His visual ars poetica is to make things easily recognizable, simple, clean work suggesting continuity and eternity, using traditional tools next to systematized appearance.
Budapest Giftbook is a material product made for tourists. The design was specifically made for the Budapest Giftbook as a brand. The aim was to make this specific brand one of a kind in its looks and design, so it catches the eye of the people overlooking the shelves in the tourist shops and can be easily distinguished among the typical products designed for tourists.
