With the spread of digital information, the opportunities for writing and reading have become much less than before, instead visuals are important. Utopian City Planning is rethinks about modern typography, the motifs and letters found in architecture are fused to create a new order of typography and explores new visual possibilities for typography. At the same time, also emphasizes the relationship with the "clarity" of typography.
Qiuyu Li(Alex Li) earned a Doctorate in Fine Arts in 2024 after obtaining a Master's degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor's degree in Information Science. Under the guidance of Prof. Yoshimaru Takahashi, he pursued design research, and his experimental work has received numerous awards both domestically and internationally. He is a member of prestigious organizations such as the New York Type Directors Club (NY TDC), World Design Consortium (WDC), International Association of Designers (IAD), International Design Club (IDC), and Alliance of International Business Associations (AIBA), where he actively contributes to their missions and initiatives. His work has been included in Switzerland's Museum of Avant-garde(MA-g)'s collection and is part of its permanent exhibition.
The "Utopian City Planning" is an individual doctoral research subject. The purpose of this study is to explore future possibilities in Modern typography.
