There has long been a global market for Indian paintings, but interest in Indian art has lagged in the US. To bring awareness about different styles of Indian Folk Paintings, The Kala Foundation is established as a new platform to showcase the paintings and make them more accessible to an international market. The foundation consists of a website, mobile app, exhibit with editorial books, and products that help bridge the gap and connect these paintings to a larger audience.

Palak is a User Experience Designer with 5+ years of industry experience designing for companies including Facebook, Airbnb, AT&T, and more. She has experience working across several industries and verticals from fortune 100 companies to start-ups, including; social media, civic engagement, hospitality, healthcare, telecommunication, and real estate. As aesthetically driven, Palak is motivated by the desire to make meaningful products more accessible through intuitive design. She is passionate about building cohesive design systems and illustrating complex concepts in a simplified way. Her work has been recognized with international awards, including the A'Design Award, International Design Award, London International Creative Competition Award, and Indigo Awards in Graphic Design, including the Shortlist Winner Discovery of the year. She earned an MFA in Graphic Design and Digital Media from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a Bachelor's degree in Communication Design from Symbiosis International University in Pune, India, where she began her design journey in 2007.
