Yuji Okitsu created an installation with an artwork named "lightflakes" whose concept is the reconstruction of light. By methodically assembling small and thin 53,900 lenses that can be combined with each other and picking up light to make large optical screens, the client's corporate statement "Miniature Technology, Infinite World" was embodied for the entrance of the headquarters of Japanese precision parts company. He realized that fusing the expression of the corporate statement with the characteristics of the art and environment enhanced the value of both sides.
YUJI OKITSU is based in Tokyo, and designs and produces architecture, as well as furniture, installations and more. He presents artworks based on the theme of “light, shadow, and blank space”, focusing on often-underrated qualities and beauties lurking in our daily lives.
