Matt Liao Calm the World Dental Clinic
Calm the World Dental Clinic is Iron Design Award winner in 2019 - 2020 Interior Space and Exhibition Design Award Category.
Calm the World Dental Clinic

To patients, waiting in a dental clinic is usually anxious and longer than expected. The design team proposed that a calm waiting ambiance is the key. A spacious high ceiling lobby functioned as the reception and waiting area was then created for patients’ first impression. They use a groin vault ceiling, simple wood moldings and the marble grid floor to promote the ambiance of an old school library, where one can always seek for his own calmness. The multi-use office for staff also has a luxury view of a modern chandelier hanging from the groin vault lobby in the city street background.

Matt Liao

Before Matt Liao founded his D.More Design Studio in late 2007, he had worked for some architecture and construction companies in Taiwan and New York. Matt has always tried to deliver his belief, “Everyone shall Do More, Design More, and Detail More”, because he thinks these so called good designers are just the ones who can find more from those “Mores”. In addition, Matt believes everyone has been a designer in many aspects since he was born and learn to live. The Chinese name of D.More Design Studio literally means “do as well”. Since when anyone is designing something in his daily life, Matt and his D.More team are always “designing something as well”.

D.More Design Studio

D.More Design Studio was established in Taipei, Taiwan in 2007. Over these years, their designers have accomplished urban, architecture, landscape, interior, product and furniture design projects internationally. They found everything created for life was based on uniquely reviewing the experience from life. The team was named D.More because they believe not only designers but everyone shall “Do More, Design More, and Detail More” in their own ways all the time.
