#502: I send my package to your exhibition in another country, I got confirmation before I sent package that you would exhibit my work, but no one picked my package from the post office in the destination country, how do I get compensated?
As noted in Exhibition participation page, when sending your items to our exhibitions in Italy as well as abroad in other countries, your are suggested to send your packages by express couriers who could deliver the packages directly to exhibition venue. If you sent your packages with any other method of delivery, especially with regular post, we especially do not guarantee retrieval of your packages or shipments. If you deliver your items with regular post office; you should remember that regular post office not only does not deliver door to door, but it is possible that the regular post office never inform us to pick your package; in Italy, we usually get a receipt, and we try our best to retrieve your packages, but especially in other countries regular post creates a lot of issues and we are not usually able to retrieve packages; for example imagine a case where our team is in the exhibition venue or trade-show; post office brings in a retrieval notification about your package; this retrieval notification is usually retrieved by reception of the venue; the reception of the venue might give us such notification too late, and in some cases the reception might simply discard the notifications (for example if the event did not yet started; if package arrived too early or too late). Even if the notification of parcel receives us; there is no way that we would abandon our trade-show booth, trade-fair stall or exhibition space to simply go and retrieve packages from a post office in a foreign country. If you ever intend to join an exhibition abroad, we remind to use only express courier that could deliver items directly to venue, and never send by post office. This proposition hold true even if your work is accepted to the exhibition; even if you get confirmation that we would display your work; such confirmation does not mean that we will abandon our exhibition space, instead go to post office and spend hours in a queue in a foreign country to try to retrieve your package; we will not do that; also remember that when we are exhibiting in a foreign country we do not have many staff; we send the most important, most relevant core team with tasks assigned to each and every member; retrieving packages from post offices is not one of such tasks.
