Design shouldn't be gatekept with restricting ideas of what it entails and who qualifies as a designer. Anyone using their own point of view to create something that wasn't there before, be it music, food, programming, painting or anything else is a designer in their own right and anyone trying to diminish this should rethink their values and priorities.
