| DESIGN NAME: Jamtland PRIMARY FUNCTION: Campaign Visualizations INSPIRATION: The client approached us with the desire to communicate their brand's close connection to the region of Jamtland and its natural surroundings. We proposed using a design language that incorporates floating compositions featuring the diverse biomes and flora of the region, with each product as the focal point. The client was pleased with this suggestion. During the project, we conducted extensive research and collected extensive reference material to allow us to capture the feeling of the region. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project involved recreating various plant species and natural biomes from Jamtland, Sweden using 3D modeling and visualization. Six pictures showcase different local microbiomes, including the moss heather and other flora of the mountains and the ferns of the lowland forests. Extensive research and reference collection was conducted for the accurate depiction of the plant species, and the incorporation of the client's brand colors as a backdrop added an additional challenge to the project. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It was crucial that the imagery used for the client's brand accurately reflected their focus on natural, sustainable practices and a close connection to nature. In order to effectively convey these values and create a sense of caring and calm nature within the viewer, it was important that the resulting imagery conveyed these themes. This allows the viewer to begin associating the product line with these positive attributes. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in the beginning of June 2022 in Gavle, Sweden and finished in July 2022. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: For this project we used Houdini as the 3D package with which we modelled the various plants using procedural techniques allowing us to make various variations of each plant as well as composing the scenes. Additionally, we used Moi3D for modelling the products and utilized Octane Renderer to render the final images in high resolution. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: All the final images were rendered in 6000 pixels using Octane Renderer and no post production were made. TAGS: 3d, 3d visualization, cosmetics, nature, beauty, product, houdini, octane RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The research for this project primarily focused on gathering extensive information and images of the local flora and biomes in the specified region. Utilizing various online resources, including websites run by biologists in Sweden, we were able to compile a thorough collection of data and documentation. This information was organized and incorporated into a moodboard, serving as the foundation for the project. CHALLENGE: This project presented several challenges, including the requirement to concisely summarize a local flora biome and it's distinct look in small compositions. Additionally, incorporating these compositions into the floating arrangements presented difficulties, particularly when incorporating water elements that needed to be anchored to the ground while still appearing to float. Furthermore, the inclusion of the brand's six colors as backgrounds added another layer of complexity to the project.
