View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Li Yu ChenAbout Li Yu Chen : Dr. Chen is engaged in the teaching and research of architecture and interior design, and has been involved in design work for more than 30 years. He is a practical scholar who seeks research topics in his profession and uses research to improve teaching. His academic research focuses on: cultural creativity, narrative design, universal design and other fields. He has published nearly 100 research papers (journals, magazines, academic seminars) on design practice, green design, graphics communication, curriculum and learning, etc. There are more than 20 books and research reports.
He is good at landscape, architecture and interior design. He has completed more than 200 design cases for industrial plants, office buildings, residential buildings, and villa communities, and developed 20 sets of furniture, lamps and products. The works completed by his team often win various international interior and product design competition awards.
Dr. Chen believes that designers should start a design through perceptuality and reflect on creativity in practice. He sees space as a living container for users, not just a performance stage for designers. From conceptualization to execution, he engages multiple perspectives, explores the cultural signification of space from different aspects, and uses narrative design to interpret the space.
