Pelin has completed her undergraduate education in Industrial Design at METU with a degree. She currently continues her further studies on Sustainable Design in Industrial Design Master’s Degree Program at METU. She also works as a product designer in a creative agency in Ankara. She believes that the solutions to current problems regarding the future should be design oriented and that design has the power to raise awareness in people to be kinder to the environment.
For me design starts with a simple urge to create. Design is my personal form of reacting to the world around me. Personally, I believe that the success of a good design lies in the ability to build an empathy with the user. The most important concern for a product should be how well adjusted it can be to the changing user patterns of behavior. Aesthetics comes after that. The combination of empathy and aesthetics results in a good design and art is the best kind of inspiration for such an approach in design because art evokes questions to even the most commonly accepted matters.
