About Pankaj Babanrao Bhagwatkar : Pankaj Bhagwatkar is an alumnus of college of Architecture, Kolhapur. Before setting up his own practice, he worked closely with renowned architect Christopher Charles Benninger on several projects varying from design of private residences to large scale universities, as well as urban planning and designing across the country. He was involved in several national as well as international competitions like the prestigious Aga Khan School in Chitravad, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, IIM-Udaipur campus, new campus for Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, The Al-Jamea tus Saifiya in Nairobi, Kenya and New Pema Gatshel Dzong in Denchi, Bhutan amongst others. He also got the chance to work on Junagadh and Veraval city planning and new campus for Indian Institute of management, Ahmedabad with renowned architect Bimal Patel. Recently he won a competition that was organised by Government of Maharashtra for Shahu Smarak at Shahu mill campus in Kolhapur, which spread on 37 acres of land in the heart of the city. He has been selected CNBC Master design award for revitalizing the Kapil tirth market at Kolhapur. Also his MODULAR HABITAT got recommendation prize for the Nepal-Tibet emergency homes. Currently he is working on Cultural Centre in Pune, Urban school in Parner, Restaurant at Satara, amongst others. Also an iconic tower for Bank headquarter in the heart of Pune city, for which he got commissioned the work, out of big names in the architectural fraternity. Besides engaging in the studio, his portfolio includes various identifications in the field of art & photography and social interaction spaces. He has won awards & global recognition: 1.) J K AYA -2020-Best Young designer of the year Award 2.) FOAID Mumbai -2019.-Platinum winner-In Architecture public building category. 3.) FAMILY INTERIORS-Won award for best Public building of the year. 4.) AESA 2020 Awards for the best Institutional building Being the core need of the present scenario, societies are developing in terms of its geographical extents & urban issues. To serve a key role helping people making their spaces worth habitable, he tries his best to deal & ensure a vision towards its betterment. He nurtures avid interest in design in all forms and scale ranging from product design to furniture design to architecture and urban landscapes.
