Born in 1971, she is the general director of New Hanoi Arts Co., Ltd. She is the mastermind and lead designer of the Hanoi Ceramic Mural (HCM) project, which won the Guinness World Records in 2010. Thu Thuy continues to develop other public arts projects throughout Vietnam and internationally. Her artwork can be seen in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Truong Sa, Da Nang (Vietnam) and Choisy le Roi (France). In April 2018 she won a Silver A’Design Award for the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mirror House and became member of the International Association of Designers in 2019.
An artist is typically a being that is filled with so much passion, love or pain for certain lands, people, ideas, or images that all they can do with that overflow is bleed it out by creating. And with this type of art, the energy will be shifted from the depths of them and into the depths of the audience to be felt. Just as the development of earth art and installation art stemmed from the idea of taking art out of the galleries, the basic of my involvement with public art is a continuation of wall drawings or outdoor sculptures. Good public art works start from good ideas and great passion and love to the city and people.

PRIVATE EXHIBITIONS:
- From June 2018 to June 2020 : Thu Thuy designed and completed the Ceramic Tree House as the Ceramic showroom in Bat Trang
- From July 2019 to January 2020 : Thu Thuy designed and completed New Hanoi Arts House, in which exhibited murals, photography and fashion.
- From February to April 2019 : Thu Thuy designed and her New Hanoi Arts company completed the Ocean Ceramic Mosaic mural in Ho Tay Water park
- From October to December 2019 : Thu Thuy designed and her New Hanoi Arts company completed two Lotus murals in the facade walls of Terminal 2 in Noi Bai International airport.
-From June to October 2017 : Thu Thuy designed and her New Hanoi Arts company had been renovated and completed the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mirror House Decoration by 800m2 of little ceramic mosaic tiles and reliefs on the facades and interior of the building with the theme “Vietnam Ocean”.
-In March 2017, Thu Thuy designed and her New Hanoi Arts company completed the mural of Vietnam tropical garden at Da Nang International airport .
-In May 2016, Thu Thuy designed and her New Hanoi Arts company completed Vo Nguyen Giap park in Son Ca island (Spratly archipelago).
-In 2014, Thu Thuy designed and completed 2 new public art works in Hanoi : Mosaic Golden Lotus Fountain (4.5m high, 8m diameter) and Love Hanoi mosaic Heart sculpture (3m x 3,5m high).
-In 2012 and 2014, Thu Thuy designed and New Hanoi Arts collective completed the huge Vietnam Ceramic Mosaic Flag (312m2) and 6 murals in Truong Sa islands (Spratly Islands), the biggest mural from wich is 4,5m high and 20m long.
-In 2013 Thu Thuy designed and completed the ceramic mosaic “ Vietnam – France friendship” in Choisy le Roi city hall (France) to mark the 40th anniversary of Les Accords de Paris in 1973 and mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam.
-In 2011 Thu Thuy designed and completed the ceramic mosaic teapot Fountain in Thai Nguyen and Ceramic Mosaic Lotus in steps in Thanh Hoa pagoda.
-From 2006 to 2010 Thu Thuy was the founder and artist leader of Ceramic Mosaic Mural Project in Hanoi. In 2010 Thu Thuy received the Certificate of Guinness World Records for the Largest Ceramic Mosaic in the world (3.85 km long – 6.950m2). Thu Thuy designed for 1000m2 of Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural.
MIXED EXHIBITIONS:
- From January to April 2019, Lead Designer Thu Thuy and New Hanoi Arts team ( Hoang Tung, Tung Ngoc, Viet Doan) designed ceramic mosaic mural " Hanoi past and present" ( 27m long x 3.4m high). New Hanoi Arts company completed the mural in april 2019.
-From June to September 2014, Thu Thuy and Tung Ngoc, Hoang Tung designed and New Hanoi Arts company completed a big ceramic mosaic mural named “Hanoi Spring” (11mx 12m high) in 9th floor and another one named “Hanoi Autumn” (4m x6,4m high) in 38th floor of Hanoi Lotte tower .
-From 2006 to 2010 Thu Thuy was the founder and artist leader of Ceramic Mosaic Mural Project in Hanoi. In 2010 Thu Thuy received the Certificate of Guinness World Records for the Largest Ceramic Mosaic in the world (3.85 km long – 6.950m2). Thu Thuy designed for 1000m2 of Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural. She invited 20 vietnamese artists and 15 international artists to design for 5.950m2 of Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic mural.
EVENTS:
- In January 2019, Thu Thuy organized the Unveiling ceremony of the Twin Lotus murals in the Noi Bai International airport, Hanoi.
- In December 2018, Thu Thuy organized the Unveiling ceremony of the Sri Lanka section in the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic mural in Nghi Tam street, Hanoi
- April 2018: Won Silver A’Design Award for the Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mirror House; attended the Award ceremony sponsored by the A’Design Award in Como, Italy; photobook and posters displayed in the Exhibition of Design winners in the Museum of Design MOOD in Como.
- June 2017: Won a Bronze at the 10th International Design Awards (IDA) in Los Angeles for the Tropical Garden Mural at Da Nang International airport; earned Honorable Mention for “Love Hanoi” mosaic heart sculpture located on the banks of Truc Bach lake; attended the ceremony of the 10th International Design Awards competition at the A+D Museum in Los Angeles.
- 2016, Thu Thuy was invited to attend the Berlin Art Week by German Foreign Affair Ministry, Berlin, Germany.
- 2016, Thu Thuy participated in the 4th Biennial of Fine Art & Documentary Photography , Berlin, Germany.
- 2016, Thu Thuy organized the Opening Ceremony of Vo Nguyen Giap park in Son Ca island , Spratly archipelago, Vietnam.

Nguyen Thu Thuy is a visual artist who is based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Born in 1971, she is the general director of New Hanoi Arts Co., Ltd.
She is the mastermind and lead designer of the Hanoi Ceramic Mural (HCM) project, which won the Guinness World Records. This project was certified as the largest ceramic mosaic in the world in October 2010 and continues to hold this title. After the world famous HCMC project, Thu Thuy continued to develop other public arts projects throughout Vietnam and internationally. In the centre of the park located the Portrait statue of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the Historical ceramic wall (24,5m long x 2,5m high) with 300 documentary photos printed on ceramics by Nguyen Thu Thuy.
