About Seçil Toros : Secil Toros is an Associate Professor Dr. in Atilim University. She received her B.ID from METU, Department of Industrial Design. In her professional career she first worked in the furniture industry and specialized in office furniture design. Later she directed many interior projects including café’s, restaurants and various stores. In 2004 she started her academic career by part-time lecturing in Baskent University. She finished her MFA and PhD from Gazi University, Public Relations and Publicity. She was accepted as full-time lecturer to Atilim University in 2012 and promoted to assistant professor in 2019. Her academic research interests include visual communication, product design and advertising communication design. She is also lecturing on packaging design and design management. She published articles contributing both to design and communication literature. Besides academic career she continues to design and she won Rose Gold Award from Muse Design Awards in the category of product design. She is deeply involved in civic society and is a member of Industrial Designers’ Society of Turkey, Turkish Consumer Rights & Public Benefit Association and Alternative Informatics Association.
