View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Eleni TezapsidouAbout Eleni Tezapsidou : The jewellery society of Thessaloniki is represented by Eleni since 2008 when she was the first woman elected President of the city's association, a union founded in 1924. Since then, she tries to promote Greek designers both locally as well as worldwide. She is the Vice President of the Hellenic Federation of Craft Silversmiths Jewelers Watch Sellers and in November 2016 she was elected in the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals Craftsmen and Merchants. Eleni designs, crafts, sells and teaches jewellery making in Greece.
Her perspective is that jewellery must be worn and not be kept in safety boxes. Every individual, depending on their character, can choose the one piece of luxury that suits their mood, the special occasion or celebration. Jewellery has been worn for thousands of years to show adornment, religion, status, love and respect. The artist feels that she has an obligation to offer an interesting page in jewellery’s history book. What excites her the most is people's recognition, when they see the sketches get life on a piece of metal.
