Then in 2016, Erik received design patents for “Leather Imprinting Machine” from the USA, Taiwan and China. This design focused on combining tasks like cutting leather, stamp designs and set hardware into one simple, elegant machine. The pursuit of art and design excellence is really an effort to capture beauty and love. It's a longing after something that we know is true subconsciously but can't reach or enter into fullness.
In a world where beauty is fleeting, we have the tendency to place a great amount of our worth on the things we create in order to find fulfillment in life. The problem is material things can not bear such weight. In the end, the reason we strive to create great art, design, music, architecture...is because it ultimately points to a greater glory and beauty in Heaven.
