View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Maria OikimusAbout Maria Oikimus : Maria is a graduate of St.Petersburg Stieglitz Art & Design Academy, faculty of Furniture Design. Since 2009 she has been working as furniture and lighting designer. Maria has participated in international exhibitions. Her works are displayed in private collections in France and in Israel. Maria made the studio of Oikimus Design in 2014. It is a furniture and lighting design studio. Each product of the studio is a unique work handcrafted in Saint-Petersburg. There connect design heritage with modern demanding every day life where buying only one item of design you are able to transform it in many other.
I like Philippe Starck’s philosophy “design is for everyone”. I try to avoid “seriousness and severity” in all projects and replace it with 100 % utility with game elements.
