| DESIGN NAME: Nano Airy Straight Iron PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hair Straightener INSPIRATION: Many working Japanese women are busy in the morning, and the time spent on hair care is limited. Although the hair is straightened well in the morning, it returned to no-shiny curls in the evening. I'd liked to design a product which can create a comfortable and elegant time for them to keep beautiful hairstyle anytime, anywhere. First, I had started thinking about functionality and got some ideas, like the negative iron, smart body, the ease of operation etc. Then, I wanted the product looks like a beautiful pure white pottery inlaid with pink ring. That's why the color of the product is pure matte white and pink gold. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The nano airy straight iron uses an innovative ion technology, which can keep smooth texture, softy shiny straight for a long time. The iron plate has undergone a nano-ceramic coating is feeling very smooth. The magnet sensor at the top of cap and body, makes the power off automatically when the cap is closed, which is very safe to use. Weighting 265g and USB rechargeable type, nano airy straight iron is light and easy to carry. It can help females to keep a good hairstyle anytime, anywhere. The basic color of the product is soft, warm and pure matte white, and the accent color is pink gold. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We plan and propose this product in 2018, complete the design in January 2019, then completed the design data in April 2019 and started manufacturing the mold. Mass production began in December 2019, and it was released in February 2020. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project began on 2018 at Tokyo, released in Japan in February 2020. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: First, I expressed handwritten designs, then expressed them digitally, examined all the materials, various sizes, and completed the design data. Next, I created a mockup based on design data, then carried out concrete verification. Finally, the main material I used for the appearance is heat resistant resin that can withstand high temperatures of 200 degrees Celsius. I gave design data and samples to the production factory and mass-produced. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The hot air curl iron with negative ion function, ceramic coating heater,USB rechargeable wireless design, universal voltage, maximum temperature 180 degrees Celsius. 41 x 63 x 220mm, 265g TAGS: Small, Lightweight, Keep smooth texture, soft shiny and beautiful, straight Iron, Hair styling, negative ion function RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By the time I completed this product, I studied hundreds of straight irons that were released. For my research I have visited not only Japan but also other foreign countries, Hong Kong, Korea, London, Shanghai, Taipei, etc. to see the products. At the same time, I also studied the design characteristics required by women for straight irons. The main research theme is design, size, material, painting, function. Based on this huge amount of research data, I completed this design. CHALLENGE: I tried hard to balance the function with size and weight of straight iron by a lot of experiments.For making a straight iron which easy to carry and straighten hair beautifully everywhere, I used a lot of creativity to select materials for the texture.In order to reproduce the color which I imaged, I examined the painting many times.
