PRIMARY FUNCTION: Service Office
INSPIRATION: The concept "to connect the office with the city" is proper to a local insurance supplying office. Because it is selling financial products which is needed the confidence of the local customer.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The concept of the project is "to connect the office with the city" The concept is formed by making "tunnel" to the city taking advantage of the site environment, which is located on the place where they can see over the city.
The detail of the doors, the black gap for installing air-condition fixtures and lightings are totally designed to make the vertical line to the city. Furthermore, the plant inside the office in hexagon table is to make "Japanese Shakkei"which means to take outside into inside. All detail is to achieve the concept.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Visitors feel the connection with the city and transparency of office work through the tunnel space.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2018 and finished in October 2019, in Fukuoka, Japan

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The site is located on the hill which overviews the city.
CHALLENGE: The site is located on the hill which overviews the city. It was consist of 3 areas, one of it had the different level in hight from the others.
Two flat area was appropriate to build the architecture. The other which had the level gap area was appropriate for the car parking. The level gaped area was efficient as the approach for the visitors feeling and seeing the overview inside the office and city view.
As the result, the office floor level and car parking area level became flat to emphasize the connection.
