PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sport Band Packaging
INSPIRATION: Mi Band 3 packaging emphasizes the youth and energy frequently associated with this group of users, so the packaging uses a simple figure of 3 as the visual point, surrounded by a pattern design that draws inspiration from the athletics track. This pattern extends over the entire package, conveying the dynamicity of sports using simple lines. The Mi Band 3 series features several versions in different colors.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Mi Band 3 is a low profile product that targets the lower end of the sports headset market. The design task is to add some attractive elements to the packaging and make an outstanding look from the shelves. The whole series of packaging maintains a uniform design to draw attention from the consumers, thus creating new possibilities for display in an offline setting.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In China, the electronic sport product packaging has the same feelings, which are cold, distant, and serious. The design hopes to bring energetic, color, and warm feelings to the product. The packaging delivers that the low-profit products also could have the best design.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project stared in July 2018 in Beijing China, finished in May 2019 in Beijing China

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Mi Band 3 is a low profile product that targets the lower end of the sports headset market. The retail price for the product is 22.22 Euro in China. The overall packaging budget was limited to about 0.6 Euro. So it is the designers' task to add some attractive elements to its packaging and make it outstanding from the shelves.
CHALLENGE: For a low-profile product that targets the lower end of the sports headset market, the whole series of products maintains a uniform design with rich colors to draw attention from the consumers, thus creating new possibilities for display in an offline setting.
