| DESIGN NAME: Frutta PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lamp INSPIRATION: We want everyone to remember picking fruit, which they experienced in childhood. Frutta promises to enrich your life by offering limitless lighting solutions made possible by combining clever design with a bit of your imagination. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Frutta offers a new approach to how individuals interact with their home lighting by envisioning a floor lamp as a fruit tree. Current home lighting units are often inflexible in their usage due to being singular units. Frutta introduces a modular system allowing users to customize and control the lighting of their surroundings. The experience of “picking” the lights off of Frutta as if they were fruits creates an intimate and natural relationship between human and lighting. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Frutta provides three main functions. 1. Frutta allows multiple people within a space to directly control and customize their own lighting needs. 2. Lighting can be used to affect and reinforce our mood. In a situation where one may be trying to concentrate, energize, or relax, users can arrange the lighting to best fit their desired atmosphere. 3. Singular lighting units often present the issue with uneven lighting of a space. Frutta can spread itself out allowing for even and natural ambient lighting throughout a room or space. NAME: Fumu PROFILE: Fumu is a design innovation team united by Kaori Osawa(Tokyo, Japan) and Masashi Yamanaka(Tokyo, Japan) in 2017. Kaori Osawa graduated from Hosei University in Tokyo. Osawa began her career in Panasonic Corporation as a product designer in 2016. Masashi Yamanaka graduated from the Seikei University in Tokyo. And start his career in PAAGO WORKS Ltd. as a designer in 2018. |
