| DESIGN NAME: Diamond PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: The geometric cut surface lies in the chair shares the similarity with that of diamond, forming an abstract aesthetic form. The design of the product strikes a balance in aesthetic, functional, and structure. The design focuses on the function and form of the chair dialogue in order to achieve the vision of the design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The diamond chair combines the shape design and function of the product perfectly been carved, and pays attention to the details of the design. The design of the chair is inspired by the oriental traditional aesthetics, and uses the modern design idea and the method to explain the traditional culture. By choosing the materials, colors and forms of the products, the traditional aesthetics of the East is integrated into the modern design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The wood material for the chair foot, the shape enlightenment comes from the oriental tradition aesthetics thought. Its back part mountain shape design provides comfortable support when the user places their foot on the footrest. Its base is made of solid wood. The design of the back of the chair is cleaner and the shape of the hind legs is displayed. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: PMMA material for the back of the chair, the source of design derived from the geometric lines of diamonds. The wood material for the chair foot, the shape enlightenment comes from the oriental tradition aesthetics thought. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 640 x Depth 625 x Height 855 mm TAGS: Chinese design, Solid wood, Chair, Geometric form, Oriental aesthetics RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The study of how to integrate several different materials of plexiglass, plastic, solid wood and textiles to create a chair, including the materials used in these processes and the environmental impact they produce. From this research, it was found that the translucent material of plexiglass can reflect the delicate texture. The textile fabric acts as a seat cushion and provides a comfortable user experience. Solid wood is suitable for use as a base because it is easy to machine. Solid wood can also reflect the texture of natural materials. CHALLENGE: The challenge is how to integrate several different materials together. The properties of these materials are so different that they need to be assembled using a reasonable connection method to ensure the durability of the chair. The processing of red plexiglass is also challenging, both to ensure its aesthetic properties and to meet its strength.
