| DESIGN NAME: Bake PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sweets Shop INSPIRATION: We wanted to use simple forms to create an inspiring design that would leave a lasting impression, so we decided to put a new twist on the familiar concept of the showcase. We wanted to make the entire shop appear as a showcase by using a large curved glass facade. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bake is a cheese tartlet specialty shop. Because of the large R-shaped floor to ceiling glass facade, from the street, the entire shop appears to exist within a showcase, a design element that was employed to visualize Bake's brand image. A lightweight mortar was used for the tartlet counter to produce a surprising and novel design that creates the perception that a heavy mortar countertop is almost floating atop a very thin metal frame. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We focused its efforts on creating something that would excite and entice passersby and the larger than life curved glass facade combines a sense of wonderment and novelty to effectively attract customers inside. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shop is covered with a large curved glass facade, it surprise people and they are sure to go inside. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 66.1 square meter (W11090mm x D5821mm x H3210mm) TAGS: bake, cheesetart, sweets, shop, interior RESEARCH ABSTRACT: BAKE sells only cheese tartlet, so we were anxious about the lack of interest.We created an inspiring design by using a large curved glass facade and a lightweight mortar.These design elements are the features of this shop to give people enjoyment. CHALLENGE: We challenged to design the only one space. We designed to construct from handmade things in stead of ready-made products. The customer are sure to make impression when they visit there.
