DESIGN NAME: Nahil Farm House
PRIMARY FUNCTION: A Rest Club House
INSPIRATION: As we drove out of Dubai toward the site, we noticed the shift in architecture. From High-rise modern, sharp cut architecture, to smaller, single-story arched corridor shops with soft shadows. Our main essence was to capture that nostalgic ambiance into the farm land, giving the client a different feeling when inhabiting it for the holidays.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A single storey building set in the heart of a palm tree plantation farm, located in Al Ain City, in the United Arab Emirates. The plot covers an 8,073 Sq/ft built-up area of ground floor level and a rooftop with a BBQ.
The house features a large reflective pool, that functions as a cooling element, as well as adding humidity to the air in the middle of the hot dry desert. It also functions as a water reservoir for the irrigation of the Palm trees.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This farm house acts as a sanctuary or retreat for its residents from the busy city life. The view of the palm trees in the front side provides a serine and calming feeling of connecting with nature.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 13 Months - Construction will start soon in Nahil, Al Ain City, United Arab Emirates
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Architecture, Building and Structure Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Designed using BIM Software, Real-time synchronization softwares (e.g. Twinmotion and BIMmotion)

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design was inspired by the ancient architecture of an emirate within the United Arab Emirates, Al Ain. Being a feature of the Al Ain's emirate architecture, arches were needed to be reintroduced into a contemporary context to give the design more authenticity.
CHALLENGE: Weather / Heat consideration and Land or ecological environment preservation
