DESIGN NAME: Stone House
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential
INSPIRATION: The beautiful view of the woods, the idea of having privacy regarding the houses next door, and the clients' wish to have the house be their getaway from the city, a place where they can have friends over, were the first steps towards the making of this single-story house, located on the countryside of Sao Paulo.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The idea was to create a house divided in three blocks that would differ in substance and use, segregating the space between social, intimate and services areas.
To protect the house interior from the neighbours sight, imposing stone walls were built, giving the clients the freedom to leave the entire social area of the house open through their big glass frames that pave the way to the big porch, that lays over the woods.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The house is devided in three separet blocks, each one of them have a different use, being social, private and service. The social area can be totally integrated with the outdoors. The private area connect the 6 bedrooms with a hallway that can also be accessed from the garden. The service area is completely isolated from the rest of the house having its own entrance.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2016 in São Paulo, and finished in January 2018
