DESIGN NAME: Pazhou Vanke Building
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mixed Use
INSPIRATION: Elevations are broken down horizontally with recesses, sunshades, and balconies. Varying unit types stack vertically separated by refuge floors. Lofts are located at lower levels engaging inner courtyard gardens, simplex units occupy the mid-levels, while luxury apartments occupy the higher floors. Refuge levels function as sky gardens and private roof decks for shared communal space. As a result the elevations stack, hover, stagger, and dissolve resulting a dynamic dialogue with “The Place”.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project explores a composition which not only optimizes views but also strives to present a powerful expression appropriately to integrate with its context. The tower mass straddles the Northern edge of the site to facilitate massing alignment with adjacent “GZ The Place” complex to the East – one of our built projects. The tower mass slenderness gives a strong vertical appearance as edges are focused towards main road intersections.
