INSPIRATION: The key thought was Re innovating interiors spaces from an architectural perspective to make a contemporary expression that is both elemental and e c o friendly for creating a brand image for an upcoming developer. The also intention was to have building rooted in urban context, showcasing natural materials closer to people in the purest forms, highlighting their textures, and rendering traditional techniques to newer aspiration and lifestyle.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project demonstrates in particular architectural and urban sensibility through which interior design has been dealt. Instead of being contained within its walls, it distorts its boundaries by carefully reconsidering and altering volumetric experience, circulation, climate and urban interface, to create a more habitable, relevant and contextual environment for its users as well as the public at large
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This space for a developers office in Jalgaon refurbishes an existing space, tailoring it from an architectural perspective to suit the needs of a new, evolved program. From an old, disconnected ceramic ware showroom to an interactive urban space that celebrates materials in the purest forms, highlighting their textures
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2016 in Jalgaon/Maharashtra/India and finished in March 2017 in Jalgaon/Maharashtra/India

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Being a renovation project the challenge was understanding the existing structural grid and doing the new intervention keeping in mind the existing structure.
We have used five layered wooden plank of 5" each width shuttering without screw for Concreting to achieve the desired texture with local masons for per casting, the shuttering material is later reused for the pergolas defining the residential entry.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Study of Existing Structural column and beam grid for the new intervention to be made for shift of programmatic use. Sampling of concrete to achieve the desired finish and training local masons for the same. Searching of cheaper shuttering material that can be reused keeping in mind sustainability, budget and aesthetics.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging part was transforming the existing space, keeping in mind the complete shift of requirements with in the same existing structure which was planed for a ceramic showroom, where the existing shell might need to be focused on in order to bring about a meaningful transformation.
