DESIGN NAME: Bidjo Georgian Wine
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wines Label
INSPIRATION: Wines Bidjo are a premium segment in the market of Georgian wines of Ukraine. A special feature of these wines is their unique position - the trademark owner finds, selects and imports to Ukraine the best authentic varieties of Georgian wines. This is a real selection of exclusive, high quality wines. We were inspired to develop this design by a concept we created within our agency. We wanted to get away from the ordinary background. Get away from the routine. Leave behind the traditional and habitual markers of Georgian alcoholic products, which everyone is already too familiar with. Get away from the images of animals. Get away from the label images of people in Georgian clothes. Get away from the mountains, jugs, kvevri and other ethnic identifiers, such as daggers, hats, horns for wine...
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It was required to create a design that would be at times more fashionable, statutory, expensive, compared to other design of Georgian wines.
The product must: 1.Surprise, amaze, excite. 2.Talk about the status of the person who buys it. 3.Talk about the exceptional taste of this person. 4. Talk about the person’s real good judgment of good wines. 5.The fact that the buyer can afford the purchase of a wine that is more expensive than usual.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The label has a complex attractive shape and consists of several different parts. This interesting, exclusive design will undoubtedly catch the eye of the consumers, make them take the bottle in their own hands and examine the design in more detail. Thus, the consumer interacts with the product even before its purchase, which will undoubtedly boost sales.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2018, in Odessa, Ukraine. At the moment, Bidjo wines are present throughout Ukraine, from HoReCa to supermarkets.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Modern print and post-printing technologies were used in this design, such as embossing, stamping and special tactile polish. Printing was executed on high-quality paper, which, combined with the use of a wide range of techniques, made it possible to achieve the perfect vision of the visual design and to deliver pleasant visual and tactile sensations to the customer at direct contact with the product in the store.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Label dimensions. Upper label: 122mm for 80 mm. Lower label: 60 mm for 78 mm. The label has a complex construction and consists of two parts with a displaced center (asymmetry). At the same time, once applied on the bottle, the label creates a single ensemble between its parts and the reverse label. Each part of the design complements and interacts with the other label components.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Agency carried out an extensive research work to prepare for the task of creating brand concepts and the subsequent refinement of the final design version. Different opinions were taken into account and the potential attractiveness and appeal of the product were investigated when using different styles of visual design. As a result, the final choice was an option that optimally reflects the branding concept of the product and the winemaker itself.
CHALLENGE: The most difficult task in this project was to develop a new communication strategy between the brand and the consumer. We had to restrain ourselves from slipping into banal and obvious messages. Bidjo Wines are a premium segment in the market of Georgian wines of Ukraine. A feature of these wines is their unique position - the owner of the Bidjo trademark finds, selects and imports to Ukraine the best authentic varieties of Georgian wines. This is a real selection of exclusive, high quality wines. All of these had to be reflected in the label design of Bidjo wines.
