Corporate Identity

INSPIRATION:
People seldom use fishes in jewelry design as fish is normally associated with aquarium. However, the designer use Pomacanthus Paru in their design. It mates in the rule of monogamy which is rare to find among the ocean species. It is rare to find them live solitarily. They are always seen in duo, defending their territory and would stay together with each other until separated by death. Most fishes mate and never meet again their partner in a lifetime. Therefore Pomacanthus Paru is surely a secret romantics species that symbolic eternal love to human. In fact, they get their common name as French angelfish because of this romantic entity.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
SK Joaillerie is a soon to open jewelry speciality retailer in Malaysia. SK is named after the founder, Spark and Koyi. Joaillerie means jewelry in French. As the founder has adopted French wordings in their brand, designer decided to align the creation with the France culture. France were often associated with romance and love by many, jewelry are timeless and classic. Therefore, she choose a simple, elegant and romantic theme to sustain the logo charm over a long period.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
In search of something different than the classic diamonds or swan for jewelry logo, designer chanced upon the tale of French Angelfish. Their story fits what she wanted to advocate: exclusive, romance and classic. She then have to careful craft our design to avoid people associating SK to a fish shop, as it is important for people to know what is the contents of the logo at first glance. She then picked the classic gemstone jewelry as the base of their artwork. Her final product was a merger of these two representation.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
This piece of artwork was created using Adobe Illustrator CS6 and Adobe Photoshop CS6 software on Mac book pro with retina.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
This logo design can be crafted for various items to generate consumers awareness. Sometimes, it can even be incorporated into SK Joaillerie products design, like the pendant. Pendant: width 140mm x height 134mm x depth 4mm, material: 18k white gold. necklace: diameter 420mm, material: 18k white gold. Finishing by little diamond.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
In general, French favorite color are blue, white and red. Yellow and dark green are their taboo color. Miko chose blue and white for the design subtle color scheme. The blue is associating with mysteries, vivacious and sophistication while representing the ocean and angelfish. As for white, it symbolic classic and timeless elegant. It also helps to represent the jewelry necklace frame so that at one glance, people would still identify SK Joaillerie to be jewelry related.

CHALLENGE:
SK Joaillerie is the brand name given by her customers. Although SK was named after the couple initial of the founders, there are just way too many SK big brands across South East Asia, even in Malaysia, people often recognize SK to SK Jewellery Group, a leading and established jewelry founded in 1991, headquartered in Singapore. Hence, in the process of her design creation, she have been contemplating with the best positioning and size of SK in the logo to give SK Joaillerie its fair share of recognition in the impression by her customers.

SK Joaillerie is an opening soon jewelry specialty retailer in Malaysia. SK is named by Spark and Koyi, and hence the name of the company SK, which is taken from their initial. SK aims to create a jewel brand with a story for each of their delicate design creation. They plan to focus on high end jewelry market. The company was set up in year 2018 and the grand opening is in preparation.
