DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Nansha Yacht Club

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Yacht Club

INSPIRATION:
The building has a concise facade and enriched space inside. The shape and size of the main tower is inspired by the Croatian Dubrovink Castle. Natural materials and deep-concave windows are used to create a simple facade that achieves a classic traditional style.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The architectural design fully excavates the historical and cultural connotations of the project site, making a new landmark. The famous Humen Fort is just on the other side of the project, bringing a cultural connotation to the yacht club building. Combined with the characteristics of local climate, all functional rooms have a good orientation through the master planning, and all rooms have good lighting and ventilation.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The main entrance is located to the south of the lobby and the entrance faces south. The main entrance is designed with a cultural square. The lobby is designed with elevators and stairs to guide the flow of people to the functional rooms on each floor. The observation tower is located on the fifth floor of the building where the management staff can see the panoramic view of the pier. The building is rich in form and strong in sculpture. Together with the cultural square, arch space and corridor, the landscape forms a new and meaningful architectural image.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project finished in 2017 in Guangzhou China.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
A romantic garden is designed to the south of the banquet hall for outdoor banquets. There are 3 continuous arches on the facade, which is made of natural stone. The roof is a sloping roof, and between the wall and the roof, it is transparent glass, which makes a contrasted effect. The facade of the pool area, fitness and children's play area is all made of heavy stone, interspersed with the Humen Fort.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
According to the function, the entire building is divided into a number of sculptural body blocks corresponding with each other, forming a simple and connotative building facade.
