| DESIGN NAME: Golshahr PRIMARY FUNCTION: Golshahr Plaza INSPIRATION: This design inspired by the dialogue between Context and function.In Saffar Studio we always try to put an emphasize on finding the process of emerging traditional architecture in Iran such as Persian masques and Persian garden and reshaping them with an innovative design solution. Based on the history, culture and geographical features of the area, this design is an attempt to increasing sociability and the interactions between people in the sustainable platform. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Golshahr Plaza is a religious building with a public space that aims to combine the traditional architecture with the contemporary Iranian culture. There is a simple question here: Can we ignore the history or the culture of that area to meet the modernity in the new world? This was a challenging question in the design process. Golshahr plaza can be described as landmark in the Karaj city which can absorb people because its unique spaces. Moreover, the important fact is, people's need is always changing through the time and these days’ citizens want spaces that fit into their needs. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Platform can be described as a project that it’s design process based on human views and making different points of view in order to increasing the quality of human relationships. By Increasing public spaces beside focusing on its density and continuity, we created the special pedestrian pathway to decrease the vehicles in that area. Accessibility, confidentiality, living with the nature in Persian garden is another aspect of the project to Paying attention to increase the Iranian architecture characters and create the sense of belonging for visitors. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The goals of this project were combination of two factors,Eco-friendly and affordable design, so the main material is brick. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Area surface:22,160 sqm TAGS: mosque, Iran, Culture, plaza, Persiangarden RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The project focuses and researches on these main aspects:1-Revival of masque definition as a place for praying and recognizing it′s operation (contemporary architecture).2-The meaning and the history of traditional Iranian mosque such as History, function and the geometry of Yard and organizing the building with the focus on its altar.3-Paying attention to sustainable development and society sustainability and increasing interactions between people in the society.4-Using the archetypes and the Unity in Diversity theory and the Order in Chaos theory. CHALLENGE: The most challenging part of the project was designing religious space and public space in a modern world beside paying attention to the culture, history and the ecology of the area. NAME: Golshahr competition PROFILE: Design Firm: Saffar Studio; Client: Golshahr mosque and plaza competition of the Karaj city. This studio brings young and creative people together to put their knowledge in to practice and they have strong belief in the power of design and creativity. These people tried to show their skills in the design process with the concept of transforming the urban space, concentrating on the human existence within it by using architecture as a necessity in everyday life. All of our projects are designed with critical attention to details, history and ecological aspects of design. Although we are young, we have so much enthusiasm to have positive effect in the modern world. |
