DESIGN NAME: Hillside
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Logo and VI
INSPIRATION: The overall design idea is to start from the brand's core concept of Symbiosis and to graphically and communize the Hillside word. We must focus on shaping the atmosphere of urban life to meet the aesthetic trends of young consumers. At the same time, designing a set of auxiliary graphics matching the logo can be flexibly applied to various products and packaging to strengthen the brand memory.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Hillside is a brand new household paper brand owned by Sichuan Fengsheng Paper with young people as the target consumer group. The product used the local unique bamboo as the raw material for paper making. The local farmers in Sichuan cut the bamboo by hand and did not use the machine to cut it on a large scale. Local farmers have a stable income while also protecting the local ecological balance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This VI system is full of natural harmony and will further strengthen young consumers' belief in environmental protection and quality of life.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2017 in Shanghai and finished in June 2017 in Shanghai.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The subtle combination between the Mountain and the Bamboo is highly identifiable. Integrally, the logo comprises extrinsic fashion and intrinsic oriental culture.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The logo shows the hills and bamboo leaves, vividly showing the theme of environmental symbiosis. I use contrasting colors to showcase technology and fashion.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The hillside brand features natural materials and environmental protection. Therefore, it is very important for the brand to explain the concept of harmonious symbiosis while describing bamboo as a natural material. I studied the living environment of bamboo and the living environment of local farmers, and extracted the elements of bamboo leaves and hills. This ensures that the logo can display natural materials and environmental protection.
CHALLENGE: The brand is based on environmental protection. Therefore, it is important to explain the fusion of symbiosis, while having a modern aesthetic.
