DESIGN NAME: Carnetel
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beer Label
INSPIRATION: I wanted a nice label for my beer. I wanted to get rid of a standard beer label with 'squares boxes' filled with texts. Inspiration is therefore the 'loose' art nouveau style.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A beer label design in Art Nouveau style. The beer label also contains many details about the brewing process.
The design also fits on two different bottles. This can be done simply by printing the design on 100% display and 70% size. The label is connected to a database, which ensures that each bottle receives a unique filling number.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design also fits on two different bottles. This can be done simply by printing the design on 100% display and 70% size. The label is connected to a database, which ensures that each bottle receives a unique filling number.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Jan 2018 en finished in Dec 2018 in the Netherlands
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: At first i draw the label on paper, then draw it in Illustrator and imported in Indesign and connected it to a database.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The product dimensions are: Width 288 mm Height 84 mm. The label is designed to print to a laserprinter. The color spectrum is CMYK. The basis was a hand-drawn drawing, which I scanned, to then transfer it to illustrator. Ultimately everything is printed out via Indesing.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: For the research on Art Nouveau I first used various sources to get an idea of whether this style matched the final design. The result was that this was a suitable style. As a result, the design has finally gained something authentic. That exactly fits the brewer, namely: small, separate, it absolutely must not have an appearance with big manufacturers.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to give the label not an standard beer label. The obstacle was not to immediately use a computer program for this. As a result, I was decided to start by literally sketching the label first, in order to be able to further shape it from here. The result of the label can be placed 4 times on an a4 size. In the results I have placed the labels so that there is as little clean cut as possible.
