| DESIGN NAME: Big Trimmer PRIMARY FUNCTION: Precious Trimming Machine INSPIRATION: The inspiration raised up from the precious trimming function, that is non typical for kind of devices like this. This was one side of inspiration flow, and the other one was feel of clearance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Big Trimmer is unique for its trimming mechanism and well designed solid body made of stainless steel and aluminium profiles. The metal parts were designed as a testament of quality of the whole device. The device is completly made and assembled in EU by Czech golden hands. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Big trimer is easy dismountable, easy to clean, safe for workers, and easy to use. The main advantage of Big trimmer is the use of one engine that drives the whole trimming device thanks to the complex transmission system. This concept has led to a compact size and a mass reduction in production costs. Another striking advantage is the efficiency of the trimming process. This has been achieved with a unique shape and placement of the cutting edge of trimm knife to allows for better closecut. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project duration was about six months in the year 2018/2019 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The device is made forom Chrome and aluminium parts. All parts made in EU SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The device dimensions are 500 x 800 x 350mm TAGS: Trimming system, Function design, Stainless steel, Sustainability RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our priority is, and always will be, end customer, and there we play our part of a product story. At first place, we as a team started thinking about a basic needs of end customer and its requirements on this kind of device. We used method of simple logic questions based on interaction between user and device to find exact equalization between them.The highest priority had ergonomics with regard to the construction and thus the production costs. Thanks to this simple thinking we were able to find design solution, that successfuly passed couple of iterative processes leaded to this awesome piece of noble device that dont play any games. CHALLENGE: There were a lot of research challenges. First one was clean function, that would be supported by clean, beauty and simple design. All of that was supported by softness natural coulour of stainless steel and aluminium. Everything was in digital model. There wasnt be any physical prototype till the first functional manufactured device. And it wasn't be simple because everything had to fit for the very first time. And i said everything, it's mean every function, mountable part of a top of a device, setting of sharpening system, gears, sensors etc..., and it was mirracle because all of that worked for it's first. All of that thanks to great people involved into this project. I think, designing is not only process but it is a state of mind.
