| DESIGN NAME: Bin Gu Plaza PRIMARY FUNCTION: Commercial Office INSPIRATION: The design concept is Green Music Box. Each two layers of the building as a moving box dislocation, which formed rich green platform and created the whole ecological green environment. The volumes of the box twist to create rich shadow, and form a dynamic visual effect. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bin Gu Plaza demonstrates Breathing Offices provides opportunities for the users to feel in natural instead of concrete forest. The 10-story building with elementary façade, suggesting a connection/mergence for different characteristics of surroundings in this globalized city. The irregular, distorted exterior creates the various external spaces for multi-purpose usage of each level itself. The plants and self-shaded shape reduces carbon emission and mitigates urban heat. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: A.Phenomenal façade Comprising multiple blocks with a twist at every 2 levels, Bin Gu Plaza incorporates stacked terraces for flora and fauna, creating a substantial outdoor landscape. The design has also taken on the abstract of connections, combinations and globalizations to integrate extensive uneven windows that resemble the shape of sound wave. B.Green, carbon positive, and sustainable interior design Designed to create an environment that blends with green design strategy, the internal space extends the outside into the office space. The west facing office incorporates adjustable louvers and maximizes natural daylights in working area to reduce carbon emission. C.SMART design Bin Gu Plaza deployed Autodesk Revit 3D architectural visualization for precise project stimulation and analysis. It allows to access predictive performance as well as collision detection, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of the drawing design. D.Cost-effective and energy-efficient approach This project involved 100% steel structure assembly with an aim to effectively speed up the construction process, optimize the space usage as well as reduce the use of sand and gravel. The modern and international architectural style expresses the spirit of the high-tech age with a material palette of glass and steel. The use of low energy glass and other recycled materials could effectively lower the building’s solar intake. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The 10-story Bin Gu Plaza consists of 37,054 sqm gross floor, is designed to achieve National Two Stars Green Rating through precise implementation of energy efficiency and sustainable development.
