Cityscape Ring
INSPIRATION:
During my life I traveled a lot and always wanted to keep my impressions from meaningful events with me.
First thing that I made after I learned 3D modeling was Paris Cityscape Ring. It was a great start of something tremendous. Today I have 40 cityscape rings designed during last 3 years. I just can't stop making cities.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This unique Cityscape Ring keeps our warm memories about significant moments happened in one of the most beautiful city on Earth.
Rome Ring is highlighted with iconic landmarks: Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica and Forum.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
It's easy :) You just put it on and never take it off because you love it :)
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
I started in February 2016 in NYC, NY and not going to finish..

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
I create 3D model on my computer and order 3D printing in wax and casting in any metal I want - silver, 14k gold, 18k gold and platinum.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
It's pretty wide ring. Approximately 1 cm tall.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Every city I make I learn its 'face'. If I've been there - it's easy. If it's a new city for me, I walk the streets using google maps, trying to imagine how could I feel myself there. Then I read about architecture and why this or that building is famous, make a list of landmarks which are 'ring-friendly' and start to 'build' cityscape ring.
CHALLENGE:
I have luck. the first ring I made for myself. I didn't meet any difficulties.. I just followed my passion.

Ola Shekhtman - designer of wearable cityscapes.
During her life Ola traveled a lot and always wanted to keep her impressions from significant moments. When she was a kid, she wished to have a ring with buildings, wrapped around her finger but she has never find one.
Beginning.
When she finished jewelry school in Saint Petersburg, Russia and then 3D course in New York City, USA, first that she made was Paris ring for herself. It looked amazing! She was thrilled to make other meaningful for her cities - New York, London, Rome, Amsterdam..
Evolution.
Sharing new cities in her social media channels, Ola started to receive requests on other cities even she has never been yet. She started to 'build' new and new cities. Her rings gain popularity after they were mentioned in famous websites as www.thisiscolossal.com (45k facebook likes) or www.boredpanda.com (79K views).
Today.
Over 6000 rings are already shipped to different corners of Earth. Daily Ola receives stories from her customers telling why they choose cityscape rings and how the rings help them to refresh touching moments of their life. Or how they amazed beloved with this special memento.
New opportunities.
Unique cityscape rings attracts attention of famous museums and galleries. They can be found in gift shops of London National Gallery, Missouri National History Museum, "One of a Kind" store in Charleston, SC.
