DESIGN NAME: Tearalab Logo Design
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Corporate Identity
INSPIRATION: Design inspiration comes from the laboratory, XY studio believe that All the delicious food and milk tea can be prepared, just like an experiment in a laboratory. The logo design breaks the shackles of milk tea cup elements and used the simple industrial style of combining the element of straw and experimental cup elements.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tearalab is Korean style bubble tea food restaurant which is a new restaurant from the minds that brought you KaKa All You Can Eat . Sitting prettily in the space formerly occupied by Burrito Planet, it's the first restaurant in Toronto that serves up fusion Japanese burgers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This logo was used in many interfaces. One is the signage which is a light box. Another one is the Cup itself. The third is the coaster that you put your cup on. Last but not least is the acrylic logo displayed in the back of the restaurant. Customers were excited to see the logo before the restaurant opened. Bloggers and Large media platform like blogto came to promote the restaurant.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The restaurant was operational between 2015 to 2017, was located in Toronto DT 181 college st.
The designing project began in November 2015 and was completed in February 2016.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Tearalab is unique and different from the Korean tea beverage market. It wants to give its customers a bite of the real protein and veggie with Japanese ingredients where you could not get any more from fast food restaurants.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With the development of young people's brand culture, the in-depth study of catering service, in order to have extraordinary memory points and points of purchase, the catering industry need to have new design concept and promotion.
CHALLENGE: The major challenge was the social aspect of combining laboratory and drink. Customer may feel unsafe or unhealthy.
