| DESIGN NAME: Beautiful PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pencil Sharpener INSPIRATION: The beautiful pencil crumbs produced after the sharpening stay on the pencil sharpener, and with the handle to form a unique small flower device. It is not only pleasant to the eyes but also makes the boring process of sharpening fun. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The designer gets inspiration from the crumbs, and makes a special design for the outlet of the crumbs. In the process of producing the crumbs, with the rotation of the pencil, a beautiful and unique flower is gradually generated. The ring curly petals are the pencil crumbs that we discarded at ordinary times. The colorful colors are radiated from the heart of flower to the outside, so that people can feel the gradual beauty and delicate romance unconsciously. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Pencil shavings, beautiful and unique accessories, are produced when sharpening pencils. The designer starts his design from the behavior of sharpening and sets the exit and path of the pencil sharpener in product semantics. As the pencil shavings slowly coming out, the whole process produces a wonderful feeling of "telling" as well. While using the pencil sharpener, the sense of grace and romance can be experienced at the same time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in Xiamen in January 2018 and was completed in Xiamen in April 2018. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Small quantities can be processed using 3D printing techniques using photosensitive resin materials. When mass production is determined, PP or ABS plastic materials can be used for batch production using molds. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Its dimension is 65*28*85(mm). TAGS: Unconscious, Pencil Sharpener, Flower, Vast RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Modern people's life pursues efficiency and results, and excessive pressure forces them to lack emotional communication with people and things around them. After a detailed analysis on the Internet and investigating young people working in the studio, they found that they really needed to experience emotions in their lives. And hope to convey a wonderful emotional experience for their daily lives. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of this design activity is determine the shape and the appropriate material.
