Beautiful Pencil Sharpener by Di Lu

Home > Winners > Design #70762 >Interview
Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Di Lu (DL) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of Di Lu by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design Beautiful here.

Interview with Di Lu at Friday 19th of April 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
DL: The beautiful pencil crumbs produced after the sharpening stay on the pencil sharpener, and with the handle to form a unique small flower device. It is not only pleasant to the eyes but also makes the boring process of sharpening fun.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
DL: This reminds us to pay close attention to every trivial thing in life and discover their unique beauty.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
DL: Continue to learn design.

FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design?
DL: Pencil shavings, beautiful and unique accessories, are produced when sharpening pencils. The designer starts his design from the behavior of sharpening and sets the exit and path of the pencil sharpener in product semantics. As the pencil shavings slowly coming out, the whole process produces a wonderful feeling of “telling” as well. While using the pencil sharpener, the sense of grace and romance can be experienced at the same time.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
