INSPIRATION: Upon creating a legend, we need a legend indeed. Faldo Andreo (designer) have decided to take on its root by picking up the unrivaled Creation Mythology of Yggdrasil and Eden as a Design Concept into one package to reach 3 goals; Blended with Nature, Unforgettable Experience and Become a Legend. A story to tell.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Nava are 2 Bedroom Villas that designed specifically to complement the main hotel at Tanjung Siung Lombok (a Tourism Complex that planned for hosting International events for yearlong). Located at the east side of Siung Peninsula, Nava redefines the term of paradise by its magnificent non-disrupted 360 degree ocean views from every section. The SkyDeck level is drawn from the image of Yggdrasil roots that ended to its magical seeds (individual buildings) which represent 9 realms from 9 units.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Unrivaled experience can be felt as soon as stepping at the entrance. Up from the hill, Guests are welcomed by a view that can’t be found anywhere else. Experience entirely different as the Main unit entrance is located at the very top of its building level. Guests have to walk on the sky-bridge upon reaching to their unit while enjoying open-air oceanfront atmosphere. To get deeper, glowing stones are scattered along the bridge to live up the magical atmosphere. Nava is also features ocean view infinity pool at ground level at the same level of its private thematic garden which represent Eden Garden. From the side, the buildings itself are like giant tree trunks.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Nava 9 Villas are located at the east area of Siung Peninsula as a part of mixed-use development of Tanjung Siung Lombok (a new tourism spot that will hold international multi-sport events as well as private events), West Lombok, Nusa Tenggara Barat - Indonesia. Design of Nava is started on January 2018 and finished on February 2018. It is scheduled to start the construction on Q1/19 (delayed from the original plan August 2018 due to earthquakes in Lombok) and scheduled for land clearance on November 2018.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wide Flange Steel construction will be used for the bridge that connects entrance area to each individual units for faster construction time, while concrete structure are still being used for the individual villas for budget consideration. Tempered Double-glass is also considered for heat prevention as it is in tropical weather along with solid-wood flooring on some parts. Even though the architecture adopts post-modern style, the designer puts many natural material as much as possible to stay blended with nature.

Shared Facility: Thematic Garden, Outdoor Dining Area, Infinity Pool, Pool Shower, Jogging Track, Ocean Viewing Seats and Drop-off area.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Considerable number of meetings were conducted with Property Developer representatives to synchronized its vision that will be translated into a design. Though they are giving a freedom to explore any creativity, It have to support the big idea of tourism-complex along with individual mission in both aesthetic and function. As a part of being to be a new pride of Indonesia, Faldo took half of the design-length in searching a concept that have not yet been implemented in any architecture in the country; a creation legend.
CHALLENGE: While it sounds cool to have a sky-bridge upon reaching the villa unit, it is roughly accessible during rainy season as it is located at the tropical country. Ground level unit access is put as a solution via lift and stairs to avoid unfriendly weather condition while doubles as service access. On construction side, corrosion is an old-enemy for wide flange steel construction. Therefore, we’ve agreed to coat all steel materials with marine paint and redo in every 5 years to maintain the structure condition. Land expansion is also considered by the Property Developer for structural built possibility due to its existing topography.
