| DESIGN NAME: Xanadu PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Most of the inspiration comes from the users. By communicating and interacting with the users, the space concepts are created to perfect the users' lifestyle. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Among the noisiest fair, the hermit finds seclusion in the city." Adopting the life philosophy of the Chinese poet, Xanadu presents the desire of retired people for leisurely life. At the entrance, by extending the landscape pavement from indoors to outdoors, the walkway becomes the emotion transition. At the center of the space, a three-sided transparent flower room is placed to connect the public and private areas. It makes an exquisite greenish view throughout the living and the bedroom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Through constant discussion and planning to overcome all the obstacle. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2017, and finished in June 2018, located at Taichung City in Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: wood veneer, solid wood, stone, landscape SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 126 square meters TAGS: natural, Utopia, retirement, essence, sky garden, in between, flexible space, green box RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By spatial planning and organizing the space, the harmonious spaces are created. As the landscape sets from indoors to outdoors, the furniture and decorations provide new distinctive way of living. CHALLENGE: The most challenge part is putting the real plants inside the flower room. By planting the living epiphytic plants on dry trunks, a sky garden is built.
