Essence by Lulu Cheng, the lead designer of the winning work Xanadu explains “"Among the noisiest fair, the hermit finds seclusion in the city." Adopting the life philosophy of the Chinese poet, Xanadu presents the desire of retired people in cities for leisurely lives. At the entrance, by extending the landscape pavement from the interior to exterior of the house, it becomes a space for the transition of emotions. In the center of the space, a three-sided transparent flower room is placed to connect the public and private areas.
