| DESIGN NAME: Song Art Museum PRIMARY FUNCTION: Art Museum INSPIRATION: "Blank-leaving& UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Instead of creating a certain atmosphere for specific art crafts, in this case, we emphasize the connection between subject and object. The significance of the art museum is to present the art. As a result, we select the critical elements according to the client’s preference, such as pavilions and pine trees; then removed all the unnecessary decoration. In terms of a platform for display, we define Song Art Museum as an "Art Container". OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The original architecture is Victorian style with Western-style gardens, as an overly makeup woman, is outdated. The owner intended to transform its function into an art space for the public using. Our first step is to remove all the decorations from her, to show her purely look. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Environment: Cobblestone(Apron) / Concrete, Dressed Stone Exterior : GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) / LOW-E glass facade system, Sealed Insulating Glass, Coating Interior: Brass panels / PVDF coating stainless steel panels / recycled wooden flooring / Lamina-te flooring / full-body tiles / SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: art container, blank-leaving, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Disharmony is what we have to deal with in this project: an imitated aspect from a mighty culture without its core. For instance, the Victorian building without its cultural base, the only thing it had was symbol, which needs to be reconsider and to be released. In short, we try to simplify everything in a harmony way. As a result, the building would be back to the original context, a spatial container.
