DESIGN NAME: Farming Kindergarten
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Kindergarten
INSPIRATION: Economic development in Vietnam separates away children from nature, leads many problems that affects the environment. Our proposal with green solutions counters these issues. The re-designing of educational space has a great impact to the society. We tried to make a building connecting nature and human naturally to get idea of life during their usage. A kid educated in farming kindergarten will become a “Green-man” whose knowledge and experience of agriculture will convey to the next generation
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is for 500 pre-school children of Taiwanese shoes factory in Vietnam, is a prototype of the sustainable education space in tropical climate, and a model of social benefit facility for workers in developing countries. The green roof is a triple-ring-shape drawn with a single stroke; creating 3 courtyards as safe playground. Passive design methods are comprehensively applied in the building together with Farming on roof. It becomes an experimental learning space of sustainable lifestyle.
