| DESIGN NAME: Happy Bear PRIMARY FUNCTION: Silicone meal plate INSPIRATION: Most of the time children making noise from beating their cutlery on the plate or breaking their bowl during meal hour. I try to designed a meal plate that will get rid of the annoying noise and prevent the children from breaking the plate, food grade silicone material were used for the entire plate produced. Moreover, the new plate will not leach out any plasticizer & BPA Free as the rival plastic plate does. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a food grade silicone meal plate, which is safe and unbreakable, easy to clean that specially designed for young kids. It can sustain temperature from -40deg.C to 220deg.C. Without leaching of phthalates plasticizer under heat and warm condition, BPA free too. Soft touch surface coating that gives a silky feel, exclusive duo colors forming technology, highlighting the bear facial outline that gives the meal plate a lovely animal expression to keep the children always concentrate on their dining bringing the happiness and enjoyment in every meal moment. Besides it can be used as a mold to make chocolate, cake or bread. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Made from food grade silicone material, is a safe and unbreakable meal plate for young kids. Soft touch coating on the surface, providing a silky feel. Avoid annoying noise cause and no leach of phthalates plasticizer, BPA free. safe to be wash in dishwasher. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2015, finished in October 2015 in Tainan,Taiwan and was exhibited in 2016 Creative Expo Taiwan, 2017 Giftex International Variety Gift Expo Tokyo. |

Methodology: Morphological Analysis, Image Scale. Data Collections: Market Survey, Target User Analysis. Research Tools: Solidworks, Sketch-Up, 3D Printing. CHALLENGE: Dou color formation for silicone material is always a challenge, and high-lighting the cute bear facial outline was even a much tougher challenge. In order to achieve the silhouette bear shape, eye-catching color planning, a special molding technique applied. This kept the team try and error for many times that finally comes up with the good solution.
