| DESIGN NAME: Lines PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wall Lighting INSPIRATION: The design seeks to create a focal spot in a space as well as being an indirect space lighting fixture. In the design of Lines, curves and lines coalesce in a harmonic order. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lines is a minimalist, dynamic and contemporary lighting fixture made of plexiglass and stainless steel utilizing RGB Led technology, which illuminates spaces indirectly. The design consists of modules with different curve points. The user can make different combinations by combining the desired number of modules. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The parts shaped in the moulds are mounted separately on the wall. The user can take any number of modules and make any combination. When the installation on the wall surface is completed, the electrical connections of the strips are connected to each other in series. RGB Led strips can be controlled remotely through an application. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This design is made in Turkey in 2016. The design registration process is ongoing. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Stainless steel plates and plexiglass materials used for industrial purposes are combined together in the design. Stainless steel strips are glued on the plexiglass material with a thickness of 10mm, which is shaped by heat moulding. Indirect lighting is provided by the RGB Led lights placed along the body. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design will be packed in a flat box as demounted. The box dimensions are approximately 10 x 7 x 135 cm. The weight of boxed product is 2.5 kg. It complies with international transport standards. The design works with 12-volt voltage. TAGS: Lighting, Wall, Lines, Pleksiglass, Waves RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Numerous researches have shown that the equipment customized and installed by the user is more popular and adopted. For this very reason, furniture that can be personalized is more sustainable and lucrative. Besides, indirect lighting of a space also increases visual comfort. At this point, Lines incorporates the user into the design process and provides indirect lighting. CHALLENGE: The design offers rather an industrial appearance in terms of utilized materials. In order to balance and soften this industrial appearance of Lines, which is planned for the use in living spaces, RGB Leds are used and indirect lighting is provided by concealing the lighting source.
