| DESIGN NAME: Square PRIMARY FUNCTION: Architecture Design INSPIRATION: Located alongside the road in the mountain, the square white building reveals its charms by means of its modern architectural shapes. As a distinctive tea store, Tai Cha Store run by its third generation has been promoting the tea culture, from the perspectives of tea and related environment. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Inspired from the lantern style of Taiwan Pavilion of World Expo in Shanghai, the designer presents the principle of "organic tea species", of which the underground floors express the idea of tree roots, the rooms including processing, examining, storing, packaging and developing. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: People drink teas on the seats outside the building, while admiring the beauty of the architecture meanwhile. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in 2017 in Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Architecture, Building and Structure Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The ground floor embodies tea display, tasting and checkout counter. This is the place trying high-quality teas and appreciating pleasant tea-culture environment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is square 150 meters. TAGS: Architecture Design, Store RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This is where the client considering business strategy and developing new techniques. Outside the building, the L-shape fish pool symbolizes the vigor of the building. CHALLENGE: For the client's family only, the second floor demonstrates the idea of "tree leaves", including the master bedroom, baby room and study room. NAME: MEI Design Studio PROFILE: A architecture-loving-mother founded design company based its creativity on pure design and original thinking, guides and nurtures the team of young designers, creates an environment of courage.Founder Hsu Mei-lin had a few years of experiences in architect firm before she changed her job and started up architecture-interior-design based studio due to family issues. In the beginning, it was just about reading, drinking coffee, and more reading and more coffee, the interior design came much later: residences, shops, offices, and the single family mansions architectural design is the project of recent years. The studio now consists of professionals in architecture, interior design, and visual communication. Projects are based on discussions on breakdowns of works. Starting from the original point and being persistent on quality and elegant presentation, the ambition is to realize our new creation in a more courageous form. |
