| DESIGN NAME: Wedding Poster PRIMARY FUNCTION: Signboard to welcome the guests INSPIRATION: Inspiration comes from the marriage couple, season and place they hold the wedding party, and lucky charm. Solemness of wedding is essential. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Graphic design for wedding poster. In Japanese wedding, usually "welcome board",i.e., invitation poster is displayed. These wedding posters are designed so that the picture frame is displayed in the newly-wed home. They are for the most special day in life, at the same time, for happy daily life afterward. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: According to when and where the wedding is held, the couple's favorite things, and other requirements. the image design is made. If the clients want portrait type, their photographs are necessary: not only their faces, but also full-length which they standing side by side, to capture the height balance. The wedding outfit and the hair style are also necessary. Usually 2 or 3 patterns of image sketches are send to each client. After confirming amends the picture is finished. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: First poster was made in 2006 for the artist's brother. Afterwards, people began to order through internet. All posters are drawn in studio in Kyoto. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wacom LCD tablet, MediBang paint, and photoshop are used. They are designed so that the drawing and letters get good harmony.The preliminary design is for stability, hope, majesty. The red color is frequently used because red and white is celebratory colors in Japan. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The drawing is Width 200 mm x Height 400 mm. The frame is Width 458 mm x Depth 20 mm x Height 550 mm. TAGS: wedding, invitation, poster, marriage, love, illustration RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To pursue the aim to be decorated after the wedding ceremony, the size should not be too large in Japanese house nor too small in the wedding venue. Sizes are calculated based on the actual experience of dwelling in Japan and part-time job at the wedding ceremony. Elements of the picture are selected according to the client's information and wishes. The rules of dressing of kimonos requiring accuracy and the handling of lucky things, are checked on the internet each time, with multiple sources so that there is no mistake. CHALLENGE: To make best posters, it is not possible answering all requirements from the clients. So it is necessary to be very concerned in explaining and persuading them.
