DESIGN NAME: Solaris
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Visual Identity
INSPIRATION: I was inspired by the outer space and the concept of traveling between galaxies in a millisecond.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Solaris is an interactive multimedia exhibition with installations and rides about outer space. It allows visitors to feel the scale of the universe while they are discovering space like an astronauts. Solaris ‘teleports’ visitors right into space within seconds. So I used teleport metaphor in it’s identity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Our project communicates with the audience at the exhibition space and in social media.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Moscow in April 2016 and is still working.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design
|
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Posters, business cards, tickets, merchandise
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: For the cosmic exhibition the handouts are made: tickets, posters, merchandise, navigation system, flyers, pins etc.
TAGS: space, identity, logo, journey, entertainment
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Brainstorm, mind mapping, visual research
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to expand the initial idea. At the beginning, there was only a man entering a portal. During the creative process I found that besides the man other terrestrial creatures may also enter the portal and leave Earth. Another insight was that extraterrestrial creatures can come to our planet and exit from the portal.
