PRIMARY FUNCTION: Book of Children
INSPIRATION: This project gained inspiration from original fairytale and oral folk story in Waldorf education. As a visual expression, got an idea from hand coloring on cooper prints as seen in Victorian era picture books.
Thought it was interesting experiment that storytelling became imaginative picture story. Had a passion to create the world of fantasy story, tried to visualize various invisible being by own expression, mysterious adventure of young girl using the knowledge learned from illusionary biological history, folklore and legend in ancient Europe.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Revived as picture book of children which tailored oral folktales into an imaginative story. Illustrations visualized with delicate and gentle touching of colored pencil and pencil in combination, gives a visual depth and expresses a fantasy world successfully. As a composition of illustrations, the story is rhythmically drawn also added to contemporary expression using framework used in Comic strip and double spread pages which reminds a theater space, getting out of an ordinary classic style.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: An oral folk tale in Steiner education visualized as a fantasy picture book of children gives more intimate and flexible reading experience.
Illustrations moderately suppressed color, with a combination of delicate and gentle touch of colored pencil and pencil drawn mysterious saga of young girl, the child imagination is strengthened and obtain joy of living. Through the consideration of various illusionary invisible being, this book telling the importance of nurturing humanity and emotions.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2014 in Tokyo, and was exhibited in Illustrators Exhibition Bologna Book Fair of Children in April 2016, in USA and Japan 2016, in China 2017,2018.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Technique used colored pencil on inkjet print
This method uses hand coloring for prints.
Black and White Drawing is printed in four colors are soft finish with inkjet, Oil colored pencil adds depth to prints.
Firstly Black and White Drawing which was drawn by only pencil is scanned and printing by inkjet to drawing paper. After, draw it again by colored pencil.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Fairytale for infant exists as the nutrition of child soul,
It is said that it will foster the independence, originality of child.
Early childhood, while Body is forming, imagination power is still there.
Keep listening to the same story from Person whom infant be able to trust, imagination of child is strengthened and obtain joy of living. Child can be human who can think freely by itself when grow up. Aim is telling to children the importance of nurturing humanity, emotions through fairytale.
CHALLENGE: Difficult problem was to re build a simple episode which based on oral literature into an imaginative picture story. Re studied the text along with the cultural background and the illusionary biological history. As an image, expressed the unique worldview which this story encompassed to contemporary style using the method reminiscent of a picture story using hand painted copper print seen fairytale in the Victorian era, evaded a kind standardized style.
